Carolyn Yvonne Davis was welcomed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father, on July 5th, 2024, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on February 25, 1942, to Raymond Jacoby and Christa (Williams) Jacoby in Austin, Texas. Carolyn moved to Plano, Texas in 1970, where she made her home, raised her four children and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Carolyn was a dedicated mother who always put the needs of her family ahead of her own. Being a homemaker was her greatest joy. Her welcoming home was a reflection of her passion for interior design, her collection of antiques, but mostly her generosity and giving spirit toward others with an open door for all, even the stray animals her children would bring home.
Carolyn had many interests and talents. Amongst them were her abilities to grow the most beautiful gardens and prepare the most fabulous meals. She also enjoyed refinishing unique pieces of furniture that she would find on her antiquing trips to the small towns around Texas. Carolyn found pleasure when she was dancing, especially to Neil Diamond. Her warmth, kindness, and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. Carolyn's legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will cherish the beautiful memories they shared with her.
Carolyn is survived by her four children; son, Layne Fletcher (wife Dawn), of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Kenna Coats (husband Jeff), Lisa Haney (husband Scott), both of McKinney, Texas, and Karen Hicks (husband Rusty) of Flower Mound, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; Kristyna Coats, Kasey Coats, Karaline Coats, Taylar Haney, Taryn Haney, Trystan Hoogerwerf (husband Ryan), Kamryn Hicks, Ashtyn Hicks, Jackson Hicks, Keaton Fletcher, Devyn Fletcher, Brandon Rochelle, Devin Rochelle, and Nicole Rochelle; two great granddaughters, Briar Mae Hoogerwerf and Hazel Grace Hoogerwerf and a host of other loving family and friends.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Christa (Williams) Jacoby.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m., September 21, 2024, at Eldorado Country Club, 2604 Country Club Drive, McKinney, Texas 75072.
Flowers are appreciated or if preferred the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Carolyn’s honor to the American Cancer Society and the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
