Carolyn Sue Archer

Carolyn Sue Archer of McKinney, Texas passed away August 25, 2022, at the age of 88.  She was born on September 10, 1933, to Ralph Douglas and Fern Rosella (Wilson) Kerr in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Carolyn grew up in Oklahoma, graduating from Maysville High School where she was the valedictorian. She married Duane Archer on June 10, 1960, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Carolyn attended Oklahoma A&M University, graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Business Machines, and then graduated from North Texas State University with a Masters Degree in Education, in 1979. She taught school all of her life, teaching most of her career in Richardson, Texas at J.J. Pearce High School and in Houston, Texas at Spring High School. Carolyn retired as an educator after over 25 years of teaching. She owned antique businesses in Tulsa, McKinney, and Houston, and she was a member of several garden clubs. Carolyn was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.  Her sweet spirit will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Duane Archer of McKinney, Texas; son, Jeffrey Archer of St. Petersburg, Florida; daughter, Leslie Archer of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren, Zachary Archer and wife, Becca, Marissa Siddall and husband, Robert, Bryan Archer and wife, Hailey, Mason Archer, and Daniel Garcia; great grandchildren, Barret, Raelynn, Wesson, Colton, and Robbie; and a host of other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Fern Kerr.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday, August 29, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
