IN LOVING MEMORY

Carolyn Roy Davidson

Jul 11 1946 - Aug 18 2024

Carolyn Davidson, 78, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 18th.

Carolyn was born on July 11, 1946, to Roy and Hazel Balgord in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. After graduating from Rice Lake High School, Carolyn attended Milwaukee School of Engineering and Nursing, loving every minute and excelling in her studies. She was a perfect fit for a profession in nursing, as she served others with a positive spirit and SPIZZERINCTUM, the will to succeed. She woke up every morning choosing to be happy and spread joy. She always had a smile on her face, never complained, and always saw the best in people. She extended unconditional love and acceptance and loved people so well.

In 1967, Carolyn, a nursing student, met medical student Jim Davidson. Carolyn and Jim married on May 23, 1970. At the time of her death, they had recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. They were blessed with two doting sons, Mike and John.

Carolyn loved being a wife and mother. She also loved all things creative, especially words. She co-created a word board game called “You Said It!”, wrote two books about unusual words, and thrived behind a microphone. She interviewed numerous celebrities and recorded a radio show about bizarre words that played around the world for more than twenty years. She also found great joy in serving alongside Jim in Brazil through Amazon Outreach.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Hazel Balgord. She is survived by Dr. Jim Davidson, who adored her, her sons Mike and John, who were devoted to her, and by her beloved daughters-in-law, Renee and Cathy; her six beautiful grandchildren, Luke, Katie, Taylor, Caroline, Will, and Sarah, her brother Brad, her niece Mary, and nephews Tom and Andy, as well as Carolyn’s extended family and innumerable friends. Her sudden loss leaves an enormous gap in all who loved her.

We are at peace because of Carolyn’s love for our Savior, Jesus Christ. We have been blessed by her bountiful friendships, her servant's heart, her incredible generosity, her zest for life, her robust, contagious laugh, her spontaneous spark, the infinite warmth in her smile, her sense of mischief, fun and camaraderie. The remarkable depth of her compassion, her ability to forgive, and her steadfast friendship will continue to humble and inspire all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Stonebriar Community Church on Thursday, August 29th at 11:30 AM.  The service will be livestreamed at the following link: https://youtube.com/live/47V-lrGDD3k?feature=share

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carolyn’s memory to Amazon Outreach: www.amazonoutreach.org. The mission of Amazon Outreach is for villagers along the Amazon River to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
