Carole I. Pierce of McKinney, Texas passed away October 1, 2024, at the age of 86. She was born to Ben and Naomi (Nye) Woodard on February 26, 1938, in Escanaba, Michigan.

After graduating from Escanaba High School, she attended and graduated from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin.   She dedicated her career to teaching, working as an elementary school teacher for two years in Wisconsin and one year in Boulder, Colorado.  After taking time out to raise a family she returned to teaching at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Conroe, Texas.  Her love for teaching extended beyond the classroom; she also taught Sunday School, coordinated vacation bible school, and helped with the preschool children at the Kingwood Methodist Church, Kingwood, Texas; sharing her faith and values with her students.

Carole was considered a super mom by her sons and friends.  She loved being around children and young adults taking part in their activities.  She had a lot of love to share.

In addition to her teaching, Carole was committed to serving her community. She volunteered as an EMT in Kingwood, Texas and was a Stephen Minister at the Conroe Methodist Church, Conroe, Texas and at Stonebridge United Methodist Church providing support and care to those in need. Also, in McKinney Carole and her husband visited hospitals, nursing homes, etc. every week for the Stonebridge United Methodist Church. 

Carole married Gary Pierce on June 23, 1962, in Escanaba, Michigan. Together, they built a loving family and shared countless cherished memories. Their retirement years were initially spent on Lake Conroe, near Conroe, Texas.  Later they moved to McKinney, Texas to be closer to their family.  They travelled most of the United States in their Motorhome, enjoyed family gatherings and watching grandchildren takes part in sports and school activities, and took several travel tours to various destinations.

Carole is survived by her husband, Gary Pierce of McKinney, Texas; son, Steven Pierce of McKinney, Texas; son, Robert Pierce of McKinney, Texas; son, Michael Pierce and wife, Tamara of Lucas, Texas; granddaughter, Taylor Brubaker and husband, Brian of Cypress, Texas; grandson, Brandon Pierce and wife, Morgan of Midlothian, Texas; grandson, Jacob Pierce of Lucas, Texas; granddaughter, Emma Pierce of Lucas, Texas; great granddaughter, Addie Pierce of Cypress, Texas; and brother, Robert Woodard and wife, Judy of Escanaba, Michigan.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Stonebridge United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas.
