IN LOVING MEMORY

Carol Kamar

May 18 1933 - Feb 28 2022

Carol "Mimi" Kamar, age 88, longtime resident of Dallas, Texas went to be with her Lord in heaven on February 28, 2022.

Carol was born on May 18, 1933 to Joseph and Margaret Armstrong in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Soon after birth, her family relocated to Arkansas where her mother succumbed to illness and died when Carol was the tender young age of three. Her father, unable to provide care, placed her and her brother Donald at St. Josephs Orphanage in Little Rock.  She stayed at St. Joseph's until she attended Mount St. Mary's High School, also in Little Rock. During her time at St. Joseph's and Mount St. Mary's, Carol developed a number of friendships that lasted a lifetime.

After graduation, and with very little to her name, Carol ventured to Dallas to make her way. She married and had 3 children and was a homemaker for 20 years. Her marriage ultimately ended in divorce but with true grit and determination, she became a single mom who got it right.  She worked hard to provide for and raise her kids, making sure each of them obtained a college education.  She was a loving and caring mother who instilled her work ethic and independence onto each of them.

Carol spent her career in sales where she made many good friends.  After retiring from Levitz Furniture, she went on to enjoy the next chapter of her life. During retirement, she became a grandmother and instantly became known as "Mimi" to everyone in her family circle. She basked in her role as a grandmother. Carol spent many years as a volunteer at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.  She loved to travel, whether it be a road-trip to Austin or a European Cruise.  She was always ready for a trip!

Carol loved her family dearly and is survived by her daughters, Janie Pollom and Karen Kamar; son, Richard Kamar and his wife, Tommy Kamar; and granddaughters, Kristina Kamar and Amanda Kamar.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, William Armstrong and Donald Armstrong.

The family would like to thank Amity Hospice and The Mulberry House for the loving care they provided to our mom before her final journey.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

A funeral service will commence after the visitation to honor Carol at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
