Carol Elizabeth Heffron, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on July 17, 2022, in Plano, Texas.
Born Carol Elizabeth Trumbull on April 14, 1951, in Cortland, New York; she was the youngest daughter of Gerald and Jane (Reed) Trumbull. She graduated from Dryden High School in 1969 and from Mohawk Valley Community College in 1971. Carol had a wonderful childhood growing up on a farm in upstate New York, playing with her siblings and neighbor friends, doing her many farm chores and riding her horses, Pal and Cheyenne. She was a multi-sport athlete for her high school, playing softball, track and field, basketball, speedaway, volleyball, and gymnastics.
Carol moved to Texas in 1978 and has been a Plano resident ever since. She held a long career in the banking industry before retiring and volunteering at the Medical Center of Plano. While raising her two kids, Carol’s house was the house that all the neighborhood kids congregated at. She made everyone feel welcome, she was fun, and they trusted her.
In 1996, Carol reunited with a childhood friend, Dick, from upstate New York. They commuted between Texas and New York, then she finally married the love-of-her-life in 1998 and have resided in Plano ever since.
Carol loved her family fiercely and cherished her friendships. She leaves behind an abundance of beautiful memories and was an extraordinary wife, mother, Grammy, and friend.
In 2000, Carol had a cancerous brain tumor removed followed by radiation, and since then she has fought through an additional cancer and the after-effects of those diseases with bravery and perseverance. She is truly one of the strongest women we know.
