Carol Bert Femmer Frank

Carol was born 1/1/1946 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and died 10/9/2020 in Fairview, Texas surrounded by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Carlan Femmer, her brother Terry Femmer, and her sister Fredi Holyfield. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Steve Frank, niece Leslie and husband Jeff Welsh, their four boys, Jackson, Javin, Joseph, and Jude, and cousin, Jeff Stone. She was raised in New Madrid, Missouri. She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau with a degree in education. She studied special education/vision at the University of Texas at Austin. She received a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from Southwest Texas State University. She taught at schools in Michigan, Illinois, Panama Canal Zone, Burnett, Texas, Texas State School for the Blind in Austin, Texas, and 31 years for the Plano Independent School District as a teacher and then counselor. Plano was the highlight of her career. She loved her principals, coworkers and especially the students. She made a practice of memorizing the faces and names of the students she counseled.  She was an avid craftswoman, especially in embroidering, sewing, needlepoint, gardening, landscaping, painting and decorating.  She loved animals, especially cats and had over 20 cats in her lifetime. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, especially by her husband. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Plano Independent School District Foundation at pisd.edu/foundation. A memorial service will be held on Oct 24th at 2 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 651 E Stacy Rd, Fairview, TX.
