IN LOVING MEMORY

Carol Ann Cook

Oct 28 1954 - Aug 06 2020

Carol Ann Cook of Plano, Texas passed away on August 6, 2020 at the age of 65. She was born on October 28, 1954 to Edward and Violet (Schupp) Parsons in Chillicothe, Missouri. Carol and her family moved to Warrensburg, Missouri when she was in first grade. She developed a close circle of friends and remained very close to many of them throughout her lifetime. She met Rick Cook while both were attending Central Missouri State University and dated for 3 years before marrying on June 9, 1978 in Warrensburg. After moves to Minneapolis, South Bend, Cincinnati, and Chicago, they settled in Plano, Texas where they spent the past 23 years.

Carol's love of God and all His blessings was evident in everything she did and in the way she lived. She always put the needs of others before herself.  She received her education degree and put that to use working with children in the public schools following every move to a new community. Eventually she elected to stay at home to run the household and take care of her family. She viewed this as her job and did it masterfully. She found time to enjoy regular get-togethers with her lunch and dinner groups, monthly Euchre group nights, and precious time with the kids and grandkids.  Regular trips to the lake house were a special time and close bonds developed with the "lake family." One of the lake highlights was her annual Girls Week with her best childhood friends. Carol enjoyed life to it's fullest and was blessed in so may ways.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Cook of Plano, Texas; sons, Benjamin Cook and wife, Andi of Chicago, Illinois and Samuel Cook and wife, Stephanie of Dallas, Texas; grandsons, Sawyer and Miles; sister, Sue Ellen Kurth and husband, Arthur of Grain Valley, Missouri; brother, Mike Parsons of Independence, Missouri; and numerous other loving family and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Violet Parsons.

In support of our local, state, and federal government, including CDC directives, and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, a private memorial service will be held for her immediate family on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, Allen, Texas 75013.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date to allow her friends and family to share their love for Carol. Carol's family is asking that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
