Carol Knutson, age 83, passed away peacefully in her home in Plano, Texas on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. Born on August 31, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, she was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Louise Kloboucnik, and her sister, Lou Kelsey. Carol attended Millikan University and married Herbert Knutson on June 11, 1960, before they moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where they lived for 16 years until they relocated to Texas.
Carol was a devoted Christian who absolutely delighted in her children and grandchildren, attending all their school and sports events, regularly taking them to the zoo, creating elaborate Easter egg hunts, and sharing her love for reading, plants, and animals, especially dogs. She believed in the power of positive thinking and always had a smile for everyone. Many of her children’s friends thought of her as their second mom.
Carol is survived by her husband, Herb, daughter and husband, Peggy and Vince Burt, son and wife, Paul and Penny Knutson, and daughter and husband, Holly and Jeff Butler, as well as her grandchildren and their spouses, Mick and Abi Dickerson, Rachel and Abel Garcia, Harrison and Aida Burt, Conner and Ariana Knutson, Mallory and Connor Lumpkin, Charlotte and Reid Carson, and Isabel Butler, plus two amazing great grandchildren, Huck Dickerson and Lyla Lumpkin.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Sunday, December 18th at 1pm at the home of Holly and Jeff Butler, 6503 Erin Lane in Parker, Texas 75002. In lieu of flowers, please share in her love for animals by supporting Best Friends Animal Society: bestfriends.org
