Carol Denise (Seum) Owens of Prosper, Texas passed away on November 9, 2017 at the age of 65. She was born on June 9, 1952 to Warren Charles and N. Lois (Henry) Seum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Carol was of the Presbyterian faith.
Carol was beloved by many and will be greatly missed. She was an amazing daughter, sister and mom. Always known for being caring, she was like a second mom to many of Kristin’s friends. You could always find Carol at all of Kristin’s sporting events or making pancakes after one of Kristin’s friends’ sleepovers.
Carol grew up in Media, PA (outside of Philadelphia) graduating from Penncrest High School in 1970 where she played field hockey and lacrosse. She spent her summers in Betterton, Maryland on the Sassafras River enjoying one of the things she loved – water skiing. She received her associate’s degree from Brandywine College in 1972. Following graduation, she was employed by ICI Americas in Wilmington, Delaware.
Starting in 1982, Carol started her 27 year career at Schlumberger in Dallas, Texas as an executive assistant, later relocating to Sugar Land, Texas. After retirement, she moved to Prosper, Texas to be closer to her family and granddaughter. Kallie loved her Nana and was always super excited to see her -- feeding the ducks at Nana’s house was one of their favorite things to do together.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Owens, and husband, Wes, of McKinney; granddaughter, Kallie; sister, Janet Seum, of Downingtown, Pennsylvania; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
