IN LOVING MEMORY

Carol Ann Searles

Jan 14 1943 - Nov 25 2022

Carol Ann Searles of McKinney, Texas, passed away on Friday evening, November 25, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with Aphasia and Alzheimer’s, two related debilitating diseases that are part of dementia. She was 79 years of age.

Carol was born on January 14, 1943, to Clement and Elizabeth June Evans in Birmingham, Alabama.  After graduating from Vestavia High School in Birmingham in May 1961 she attended Bob Jones University. She met Christopher G. Searles, a young graduate from Bob Jones who was sent to Birmingham by Youth for Christ International to spearhead an initial effort working with teenagers in high schools as part of an outgrowth ministry Billy Graham anchored prior to his calling as an evangelist throughout the world.

Carol married Chris in April 1963, and as their family grew, Chris moved into the corporate world in order to support his family. As various corporate opportunities opened for him, Carol relocated to various cities including Atlanta, Toronto, Chicago, Columbus, and Tucson before settling in the Dallas area where they have lived for the last 27 years.  She was very active in each of these cities both with her church and the regional Christian Women’s Clubs where she served periods as chair of those clubs. She raised two children, a daughter named Sherri Lynn, and a son, Christopher G. Searles II known as Kit.  Both reside in Birmingham.  In addition, she is survived by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A small remembrance and celebration of Carol’s life will be held for family and a small group of friends in Montevallo, Alabama on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Central time.  If you have a special memory, would like to offer a short eulogy for Carol or attend the remembrance remotely via a virtual internet connection, please contact Chris (Kit) Searles at kit.searles@baebatteriesusa.com.  The family requests that any donations be made to the National Aphasia Association or the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
