Carol Ann Robey

Carol Ann (Dickenson) Robey of Fairview, Texas formerly of Midland, Texas passed away on September 8, 2017 at the age of 72.  She was born January 2, 1945 in Crane, Texas to Joy Moreau Dickenson and Vance H. Dickenson. Ann’s parents were both educators and the family moved to Loraine, Texas in September 1945 where she grew up and graduated from Loraine High School in 1962.  She attended Hardin-Simmons University from September 1962 until May 1966, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education and English.  Ann was a member of Epsilon Eta Phi and Cowgirls while at HSU. On August 19, 1967, she married Kenneth Ray Robey in Loraine, Texas.

Ann was recruited by Shell Oil Company to work in the Midland, Texas office and began working in June 1966 in the Public Relations Department and the Legal Department.  She worked for Shell until they moved offices to Houston in January 1974.  Ann then went to work for Coquina Oil in September 1974 and remained there until Coquina was sold in 1984. She then went to work for Alpha Twenty-One Corporation in May 1984, remaining there until May 1987 when she went to work for Primary Fuels Inc. until the offices closed in 1989. Ann formed Thompson-Robey and Associates in 1989 with Don Thompson and continued that business until June 1993 when she began working for Henry Petroleum Corporation until her retirement in April 2008.

Ann was a member of the Permian Basin Landmen’s Association, American Association of Petroleum Landmen and National Association of Division Order Analysts. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Midland, Texas for 42 years before moving to Fairview, Texas in May 2008 and joining First Baptist Church in Allen, Texas.

Ann is survived by her children, Brandon Robey and wife, Lynda of Lewisville, Texas and Brian Robey and wife, Amanda of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Vance Robey and Campbell Robey of Lewisville, Texas and Riley Robey and Parker Robey of Plano, Texas; and numerous other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 38 years, Kenneth who died in August 2005. 

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4616 N. Big Spring St., Midland, Texas 79705.
