Carlos “Tiger” R. Valdez of McKinney, Texas passed away on December 1, 2019 at the age of 47. He was born on February 29, 1972 to Andres Morales and Maria Soledad (Martinez) Valdez in Weslaco, Texas. Carlos came to McKinney as a child and loved socializing with friends and family. He met his wife, Melissa Villanueva DeLeon in junior high and started dating in high school. Carlos did whatever he could to make people enjoy their time with him. He especially enjoyed spending time with his brothers and he was truly thankful for his sisters always trying to take care of him. Carlos loved collecting trinkets and antiques. He always thought of others and how they would enjoy the things he would find. Carlos enjoyed listening and jamming to rock n’ roll music. He always had Ozzy Ozborne blaring so his family and neighbors could enjoy it. Carlos was a very fashionable man, from his “low rider hats” to his collection of jewelry, he enjoyed looking his best.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa DeLeon of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Angelica Maria Valdez of McKinney, Texas, Jennifer Eva Valdez of McKinney, Texas, and Joni Martinez of Blue Ridge, Texas; granddaughters, Mia, Aaliyah, and Mariah; brothers, Andres Valdez, Jr. of Melissa, Texas, Juan Valdez of Visilia, California, Eulogio Valdez of McKinney, Texas, and Roberto Valdez of McKinney, Texas; sisters, Francisca Rivera of Melissa, Texas, Leticia Diaz of Fairview, Texas, Maria Tinajero of McKinney, Texas, Vincenta Gonzales of Melissa, Texas, Soledad Batres of Sherman, Texas, Magnalena Valdez of McKinney, Texas, and Ofelia Valdez of Donna, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Maria Soledad Valdez.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary service starting at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
