Carlos Benjamin Ramirez

Carlos Benjamin Ramirez of Plano, Texas passed away on April 3, 2018 at the age of 68.  He was born on December 22, 1949 to Carlos L. and Beatriz (Tellez) Ramirez in San Angelo, Texas. Carlos graduated from Caprock High School in Amarillo.  He was in the ROTC at West Texas State University.  Immediately after graduation, Carlos was stationed at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He married Frankie Willis on August 8, 1970 in Sadler, Texas.  Carlos briefly worked as a school teacher before moving into the business world.  He retired from Avaya in 2001 and returned to his love of teaching at Lake Highlands High School.  Carlos served on staff at Grace Outreach Center in Plano, Texas since 2006. Carlos loved God’s Word; his skills as a teacher made the Bible come alive to so many. Carlos was an avid sports fan, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas A&M Aggies.

Carlos is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Frankie Ramirez of Plano, Texas; daughter, Christina Ramirez of Plano, Texas; granddaughter, Camille Pania of Plano, Texas; mother, Beatriz Ramirez of McKinney, Texas; brother, Mark Ramirez and wife, Shanna of Frisco, Texas; sisters, Betty McCutchan of McKinney, Texas, Yolanda Moore and husband, Herschel of Houston, Texas and Yvette Davis and husband, Tom of Herndon, Virginia; and many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Ramirez; his father, Carlos L. Ramirez; and his cousin and friend, Carlos Argott.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Grace Outreach Center Sanctuary, 3301 Preston Rd., Plano, Texas 75093.
