IN LOVING MEMORY

Carla Joyce Brandt

Oct 21 1963 - Mar 07 2025

Carla Joyce (Cassidy) Brandt, a resident of Rowlett, Texas, passed away March 7, 2025 at the age of 61. She was born on October 21, 1963, to her loving parents, Harold Cassidy and Carol (Tipton) Cassidy in Magnolia, Arkansas.  Carla graduated from Lufkin    High School in Lufkin, Texas. She continued her post-secondary studies at the University of Texas Tyler, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree.  Carla worked at Medical City Plano, UT Southwestern, and Parkland for many years. Her extensive experience across these renowned hospitals honed her clinical skills and allowed her to build a powerful network of nursing professionals and friends.

Carla lived a well-rounded and vibrant life, balancing her intense work in healthcare with things that brought her joy and relaxation.  She knew how to let loose and enjoy life, especially attending concerts with friends.  She loved the adventures that travelling brought. And her affection for her daughter’s dogs as her “grandchildren” was so sweet and nurturing. Carla had a big heart and loved to show how much she cared for those she loved, whether it was through spending time with family, making her many friends laugh with her stories and quick wit, or being a doting "grandmother" to her furry grandchildren.

Carla is survived by her daughter, Ashley and son-in-law Bob Allen, of Gig Harbor, Washington; son-in-law, Ron Jensen, of McKinney, Texas; parents, Harold and Carol Cassidy, of Lufkin, Texas; aunt, Marjorie Hollensworth, of Magnolia, Arkansas; her beloved pets, Marcel, Remy, and Zsa-Zsa; and a host of extended family members, colleagues and friends, who will miss her and warmly cherish her memory.

Carla was preceded in death by her daughter, Tara Brandt.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, 75013.

In order to honor Carla’s memory in the most authentic way possible, Ashley has requested if you have a concert, band, or music t-shirt of any kind, to please wear it to the service if you are able in lieu of more formal, traditional funeral attire.
