IN LOVING MEMORY

Carl Stone

May 09 1936 - Feb 03 2021

Carl Stone of McKinney, Texas passed away February 3, 2021 at the age of 84.  He was born on May 9, 1936 to James Lewis Stone and Minnie Lee (Baker) Stone in Foreman, Arkansas.  Carl grew up in Tom, Oklahoma where he attended school.  Carl married Joyce Evelyn Grimes on July 2, 1955 in Hugo, Oklahoma and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage before her passing in 2019.  He worked as a master mechanic all of his life and was the owner of Stone’s Automotive in Anna, Texas. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix! Carl enjoyed fishing, hunting, tending to his vegetable garden and watching out for his cows and guineas. He enjoyed telling stories and making people laugh. Carl loved decorating his house for Christmas and handing out candy to kids on Halloween.  Mostly, he loved spending time with his family and was always there to help with anything that needed fixing.  Day or Night!  He was a great dad and a devoted husband; always willing to let others go first.  He was a member of the Baptist faith and will be missed every day until we meet him again at Heaven’s gate.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Tullos of McKinney, Texas, daughter Sheryl Wyatt and husband, Phil of Van Alstyne, Texas and son, Carl Stone, Jr. and wife, Twanya of Trenton, Texas; grandchildren, Kevin Tullos, Kristy Tullos, Kayla Tullos, Jennifer Wyatt Douglas, Phillip Wyatt, Christopher Stone, Slater Stone, Brandon Stone and Carley Stone; five great-grandchildren, Hailey Tullos, Caroline Tullos, Emily Tullos, Wyatt Douglas, and Jackson Douglas; brother, Bill Stone of Tom, Oklahoma, sister, Vicki Stone of Tom, Oklahoma; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Carl was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Joyce Evelyn Grimes Stone; parents, Lewis and Minnie Lee Baker Stone; sons, Stephen Carl Stone and Bryan Kevin Stone; grandson, Jace Stephen Stone; son-in-law, Steve Vance Tullos; brothers Jonnie Buck Stone and James Lewis Stone; and sisters, Mary Katherine Gaskey and Martha Bess Miller.
