Carl Weldon Boyd, Jr. (75) of Dallas, Texas, passed away on January 7, 2023, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Carl, fondly known as “Pudge”, was born to Carl Weldon Boyd, Sr., and Cecil Mearl (Hukel) Boyd at Lubbock Memorial Hospital in Lubbock, Texas on April 8, 1947.
Pudge was a self-employed, licensed master plumber for over 40 years and a proud graduate of Texas A&M University – Gig’em Aggies! Pudge was also a Deacon at the Main Street Church of Christ.
Pudge was a lover of life with a dynamic personality. He loved to laugh and was a music enthusiast, but his greatest love was for his family, especially his wife and daughters, and the Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ. Until the end, he did his best, daily, to walk in the ways of the Lord and to minister to others about Christ.
Pudge is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martia (Marietta) Boyd, and his two daughters and their spouses, Kristen and Susan Rommel-Boyd and Tamra (Boyd) and Timothy Ostrout. He is also survived by his sisters, Camille Poetschke and Nora Vincent, along with nephews and their spouses (Kurt and Laura Poetschke and Sean and Tiffany Vincent) and nieces and their spouses (Gretchen and Edmund Prater, Honey and Bill Elder, Heather and Adam Colley, Liesl and Kirk Bowman, Katrin Cagle, and Robin and Jeff Beverett).
Pudge was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Weldon and Cecil Mearl, and his sister, Mary Lee Smith.
From your loving wife and daughters:
Thank you, sweetheart, and thank you dad for everything and for loving us.
Our lives will not be the same without you, but we will hold on to the hope of seeing you again someday.
All our love, Martia, Kristen and Tamra.
