Candace Rhamy Akins

Candace Rhamy Akins, age 75, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on April 5, 2021.  She was born on May 13, 1945, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to Maye (Grobe) and Fred Rhamy.  Candace “Candy” graduated from W.B. Travis High School in Austin in 1963.  Candy went on to a successful career as an accountant for Akins Marketing in Plano and Action Company in McKinney for many years.  She was a loving mother and dear friend to many, who will be greatly missed.

Candy loved life, and her interests included spending time with family, traveling, Asian art, boating, lake living, collecting Waterford crystal, Steinbach nutcrackers, and casino gaming.

Candy is survived by her son, Dwight D. Alford and his wife, Jennifer, of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren Colin and Brynn; and her siblings, Shari Adams and Don Rhamy.

A memorial fund will be established in Candy’s name with Texas Oncology Foundation.

A memorial service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas, on Friday, May 21, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Chaplain Pam Smith.
