IN LOVING MEMORY

Cameron "Cam" Dee Myers

May 19 1960 - Jul 15 2023

Cameron “Cam” Dee Myers passed away on July 15, 2023, in Allen, Texas at the age of 63. He was born to Robert (Bob) and Lois (Dooley) Myers on May 19, 1960, in Tyler, Texas.

Cam graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1978 and married his wife Jennifer on March 3, 1979, in Plano, Texas. He worked for 38 years for IBM as a customer engineer.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer Myers of Allen, Texas; daughter Leigh Ann Myers and husband Michael Langford of McKinney, Texas; grandson, Michael E. Langford; granddaughter, Hadley Langford; brother, Cary Myers; and parents, Bob and Lois Myers.

Cam was preceded in death by his maternal and his paternal grandparents.

To know Cam was to love him; he would give the shirt off his back to any stranger or family member in need. He was loved by so many for his kind and caring nature, contagious smile, and silly personality. He was the kind of dad that stayed up hours the night before a project was due to help his little procrastinator finish a masterpiece, the kind that taught his kids and grandkids to ride bikes, to drive cars, tie shoes, do algebra; he was just there for it all. He always had a need to live life to the fullest and loved all adventure, big and small, including sky diving, driving fast cars, pulling kids on intertubes by boat and waterskiing, listening to rock and roll bands and dancing with his wife, snow skiing, chasing around his grandkids cloaked as the Baxson or a crab coming to get their piggies, and always had a dream of piloting his own plane. At the same time, he was also a very simple man who loved sitting on the beach watching the sunset as well as photographing the family adventures. He also took immense pride in household projects and being the build it and fix it man and was endearingly named “The Shelf Master” by his closet neighbors. He also loved being the community dad to all the kids in the neighborhood.

He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He had maintained a very close relationship with his parents and brother.  He was their confidant and advisor. The love his family had for him will transcend his passing and continue to warm their hearts until they all meet again.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
