IN LOVING MEMORY

Cameron Daniel DeMerse

Feb 25 2002 - Sep 14 2024

Cameron Daniel DeMerse, age 22, of Celina, Texas passed away on September 14, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on February 25, 2002, in Royal Oak, Michigan to Elizabeth “Liz” Anne DeMerse and Shawn Raymond DeMerse. Cameron was a 2020 graduate of The Woodlands High School, and a student in the Construction Management Program at Collin College.

Cameron was an amazing, caring, and loving person.  From a young age, Cameron was focused on the needs of others.  Always the protector, the confidant, the shoulder to cry on, and someone who quietly put the needs of others in front of his own.  Cameron developed a strong relationship with Christ as a child, which continued through the time he was called home.  Cameron was an amazing drummer, guitarist, singer, golfer, downhill skier, wakeboarder, automobile and motorcycle enthusiast, artist, caretaker, and servant of Christ.

Cameron’s parents are in awe and so proud of the boy he was and the man he became.  Even after his passing, we all continue to learn more about the selfless acts that he never spoke about.  This was Cameron.  He didn’t want credit or praise, he just did it, all while walking in the footsteps of Christ.  He loved his family deeply, and anyone he called friend.

Cameron is survived by his parents, Shawn and Elizabeth DeMerse of Celina, Texas; his grandfather, Daniel DeMerse of Marquette, Michigan; and his grandmother, Carole Holm of Hobart, Indiana. Cameron was preceded in death by his brother, Connor DeMerse; his grandfather, William “Bill” Holm; and his grandmother, Robin DeMerse.

A Memorial Service will be held at Hope Fellowship in Prosper, TX, 2000 W. Prosper Trail, Prosper, Texas 75078, on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. A fellowship reception will be held for all who attend afterwards.

Flowers and plants are welcome; however, Cameron was elated by the Collin College Construction Management Program.  Because of that, and in keeping with his generous and caring spirit, a Cameron DeMerse Memorial Scholarship has been set up, and donations are being accepted at https://www.collin.edu/foundation/give/index.html.   If you are interested in donating to Cameron’s scholarship fund, please select the “Cameron DeMerse Memorial Scholarship” under the designation drop down menu on the website.
