Callie Ann (Mom) Recer, age 95, of McKinney, Texas, passed away July 14, 2010, in McKinney. Callie was born March 4, 1915, in Hunt County, Texas, to Lewis Gideon and Mattie Bell (Burks) Thorp. She married Charlie W. Recer on October 6, 1934 in Durant, Oklahoma. Callie was a member of East Fork Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Annetta Gant and husband, Earl Ray of McKinney, Texas; sons, James Recer of McKinney, Texas, Edgar (Bud) Recer also of McKinney, Texas, Roy Recer and wife, Sue of Melissa, Texas, J. A. Recer and wife, Allison, and Willie Recer and wife, Karen, both of McKinney; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Ernie Thorp and wife, Lydia of Leonard, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Charles Recer, parents, three brothers, and three sisters. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Bro. Rick Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
