Caitlin Marie Ussery Staten

Caitlin Marie Ussery Staten, 32, of Austin, Texas, passed away on January 30, 2019. She was born at Great Lakes Naval Hospital, in Shields Township, Illinois to Richard and Cynthia Ussery on February 7, 1986. Caitlin married Ryan Staten on October 31, 2015 with their dogs by their side in Bedford, Texas.  In 2003, Caitlin started her long career in the insurance industry.  She worked as a Personal Lines Underwriter for Nationwide Private Client for the last three years.  Caitlin was very involved in dog rescue for many years with fostering and most recently transports locally and even to California and back.  She had a deep love for all animals that began as a child but especially boxers. Ryan always understood and shared her passion for animals more than anyone else ever could have and never told her no.  Caitlin was a true Daddy’s girl.  From riding on the back of his motorcycle when she was 7 saying “Go faster Daddy” to calling him and saying “Dad, there is this dog that needs help. . . . .” he would do anything for his baby girl.  Her Mom was and always will be her best friend and her brother Robert was who she knew she could always count on and loved so deeply.

Caitlin is survived by husband, Ryan Staten; parents, Richard and Janie Ussery; father and mother-in-law; Randy and Gina Staten; brother, Robert Ussery and his wife, Jessica Ussery; brother and sister-in-law, Cody and Sarah Staten; sister and brother-in-law, Brittany and Anthony Garcia; grandmother, Peggy Holmes; aunts and uncles, Barbara Petty, Charles and Kathy Ashenhart, Becky and Eddie Mark, Bill and Sue Ashenhart, Cris and Alexandra Ashenhart, Tom and Helen Maser, Dennis and Sandy Maser; nieces, Luella and Thea Staten; nephew, Jordan Garcia and a number of cousins and other extended family members.

Caitlin was preceded in death by Grandfather, Ira Dickson Ussery; Grandmother and Grandfather, Jonnie Ashenhart and Glen Ashenhart and Aunt, Marian Kay Paulk.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Turrentine,-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. The family will hold a private burial at a later date.
