Byron Wayne Troy of McKinney, Texas passed away on February 16, 2023, at the age of 62. He was born on October 16, 1960, to Clarence Byron Troy and Freda Mae Woolum in Lamar, Colorado. Byron was a 1979 graduate of Lamar High School and he studied Agriculture at Amarillo College. Byron married Alva I. Morales on June 22, 1991, in Boise City, Oklahoma. Byron enjoyed being in the sunshine and he loved his job as a self-employed landscaper. Byron also enjoyed camping, playing basketball, watching the Denver Broncos, listening to music, having BBQs, and studying the Bible. Those who knew him would say he was a kind and gentle man who was an avid talker. Byron was of the Christian faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Byron will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Alva Troy of McKinney, Texas; son, Jacob Byron Troy of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Kristen Amber Troy of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, Kimber Smith of McKinney, Texas; sister, Sylvia Holdren Salzer and her husband Robert Hill Salzer of Durango, Colorado; brother, James Holdren of Phoenix, Arizona; and a host of other loving family and friends."
Byron was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Freda Troy, and sister, Jeannie.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, February 24, 2023, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
The family will receive family and friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
