Butch was such an outstanding person and family man. He was also at the top of his game in his chosen profession as a farmer and businessman. His loss will be tough on everyone who knew him, but we find comfort in knowing he is in a better place. He was loved, admired and respected by so many and will be greatly missed. We are extremely honored to be a part of his extended family. Love, Steve & Dianne Steve and Dianne O'Brien, August 7, 2021 Butch was a true friend and will be missed. He would come up to the office when Wendy worked here and get a cup of coffee and talk for the longest time about his family and grand kids. He would ask me how many grand kids did I have now. (not wanting me to pass him.) Butch was a friend to all I will always remember his bubbly personality and his ability to make everyone feel special. My prayers go out to the girls who he loved so much, the grand kids and Jennifer. Tena Gilbert, August 6, 2021 So sorry to hear about the passing of Butch. My folks, Larry and Georgia Lacy, lived in Melissa for years and would keep me apprised of happenings mostly through their friendship with the Love families. I never think of Butch that I don’t smile or laugh out loud. Sometimes I would ride along on the tractor with him in that hot Collin County sun, laughing and making fun of each other. We discussed all sorts of “important” issues on the tailgate of his truck over a couple cold ones. He was always smiling, always kind. An extraordinary human being. My most sincere condolences to his family; they are in for some rough days. May they find peace and solace with one another. Marie Lacy Cole, August 3, 2021 A life well lived. From the little white mustang to that huge John Deere tractor on tracks pulling a huge tandem over by the airport! You knew how to make it happy. You're a prime example that knowledge is power. You helped numerous folks when they needed help. And you always did it with a smile on your face. Whatever the challenges were you  made the best of it & kept moving forward. All of the years of knowing you, whenever I saw you, one of two things happened while we cut up & visited. You picked my brain & always made me think or it was like you gave me homework & the next time you saw me you expected me to tell you the answer. So every year at the beginning of school I ask every single ag mechanics student the ultimate question! How many seconds in a year? Thinking of you & laughing inside. RIP Butch until we meet again.
