Burtis Moses

Burtis Moses, age 83, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022.  He was born on March 18, 1939, in Jay County, Indiana, to Vina (Davenport) and Dewey Moses, and grew up on a chicken farm.  Burtis proudly served his country in the United States Navy and had a successful career as a building engineer.  He married the love of his life, Janet Beer, and they were blessed with two daughters.  Burtis loved wood working and classic cars.  He could fix absolutely anything.  He had a love for westerns, science fiction and all animals. His dog and his chickens were his pride.  Burtis was a very proud 60 year Master Mason.  Burtis was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many.  He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Burtis is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Moses; his daughter, Teresa Wilkinson and her husband, Richard; his granddaughter, Kayla Curiel and her husband, Anthony; his grandsons, Richard James Wilkinson and his wife, Mayra, and Ryan Wilkinson and his wife, Tina; his brother, Keith Moses and his wife, Karen; his great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Wilkinson, Lisa Wilkinson, and Rylee Curiel; and his great-grandsons, Colin Wilkinson, Alvaro Wilkinson, and Paxton Curiel. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Kaye Moses; his mother, Vina Davenport Moses; his father, Dewey Moses; his sister, Jerleen Balentine; and his brothers, George Earl Moses, Bryant Moses, Glenious Moses, Joe Moses, and Kenneth Moses.

A memorial service will be held at Berkshire Chapel, 9073 Berkshire Drive, Frisco, Texas, on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Chaplain Dan Ames.
