Bryson “Doc” Cody Long of Princeton, Texas passed away on May 30, 2020 at the age of 28. He was born on January 7, 1992 to Brian Keith and Bennie Jean (McCormack) Long in Plano, Texas. Doc grew up in McKinney, Texas where he attended schools and graduated from McKinney North High School in 2010. Growing up he enjoyed playing sports and was a member of Future Farmers of America, FFA. He attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. Doc worked for Cortland Partners as an assistant building superintendent. He had a true passion for motorcycles and he was a member of Countrymen Motorcycle Club.
Doc is survived by his daughter, Brenleigh Marie Long and her mother, Alyssa Shearer and her husband, Travis and their son, Cason of Bells, Texas; parents, Keith and B.J. Long of Princeton, Texas; grandparents, Judy Long of Melissa, Texas, Tommy Long of Tyler, Texas, Jean McCormack of Princeton, Texas; aunt and uncle, Margie and Darrell Stephens of Anna, Texas; cousin, Kelsey Stephens and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Benny McCormack.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2020 at Kings Trail Cowboy Church, 498 Bethel-Cannon Road, Whitewright, Texas 75491. A viewing and visitation will be held at the church on Friday prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.. Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way to Fitzhugh Cemetery, Lucas, Texas for a committal service where all are invited to attend the committal service by standing at a minimum distance of 20 feet from the tent and 6 feet apart from one another to comply with social distancing directives or you may remain in your vehicle. Subject to the Memorial Park/Cemetery guidelines.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Brenleigh’s College Fund through Countrymen Motorcycle Club.
