Bruce Wayne Saari, aged 68, passed away on May 21, 2026, in Plano, Texas. He was born on November 5, 1957, in Stuttgart, Germany. Bruce was a dedicated husband, father, brother, and friend, who filled the lives of his family and friends with laughter and love.
Bruce grew up in Miami, Florida, where he graduated from Miami Palmetto High School in 1975. He furthered his education at Miami Dade Community College and Auburn University, where he began a long career in the restaurant industry. His passion for great food and service shone brightly during his tenure as a restaurant manager for Red Lobster in the Dallas Metroplex area from 1982 to 2003. After a brief venture as the owner of XL Cycle Shop in Plano, Texas, he returned to his roots in the culinary world, serving as General Manager of La Madeline Café restaurants from 2008 until 2021.
On March 23, 1991, Bruce married Deborah “Debbie” Ann Brenner. Together, they created a beautiful life filled with adventure, travel, and countless cherished memories. Their son, Drew Bernard Saari, was born on September 1, 1994, and Bruce took great pride in being a devoted father. He had a knack for storytelling and humor, often making everyone around him laugh with his well-timed dad jokes.
Bruce and Debbie did practically everything together. They loved traveling together, particularly to Italy, created lifelong memories. Bruce and Debbie loved riding their Harley Davidsons with friends`, hosting lively pool parties, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, of whom Bruce was a tortured fan. His passion for Indy car and NASCAR racing was evident, culminating in their unforgettable trip to the Indy 500 in 2009.
In addition to his family life, Bruce was active in his community. He was a proud member of the Plano Chamber of Commerce and the leader of the XL Cycle bicycle rider’s club, promoting fitness and fun among fellow cycling enthusiasts.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. As his mother, Nancy, used to remind everyone, Bruce had a unique way of making everyone feel special and important. He gave the best advice and the worst dad jokes, and we would give anything to hear both again.
