Bridget Teresa (Flanagan) Gallagher, 90, passed away on January 2, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. She was born October 22, 1932, to Joseph Flanagan and Anna (Moore) Flanagan in Donegal, Ireland. She was raised on a farm in Ireland until she left as a teenager to go to work. As a young adult, she became a Registered Nurse. She married James M. Gallagher and moved to Belfast, Ireland. Together, they had four daughters: Faustina, Yvonne, Yvette, and Antoinette. In 1967, as a young couple with four children, they came to the United States and settled in Dallas (Oak Cliff), TX, where she continued her career as an RN. Later in life, she switched careers into hotel management which allowed her to travel across the United States. In 1995, she retired to Leonard, Texas, then settled in Carrollton, TX in 2017. She moved to St. Joseph's Catholic Residence in Dallas, Texas in July 2022 and loved it there within the Catholic Community.
She has always been a devout Catholic and has been involved with her church. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and gardening, but most of all being involved with the church and praying.
Bridget will be remembered by her daughters, Faustina Gallagher of Waxahachie, Texas, Yvonne Jamnik and husband, R.J., of North Carolina, Yvette Craver of Leonard, Texas, and Antoinette Thomas of Carrolton, Texas; grandchildren, Bridie Hogue, Latashia Gallagher, Erin Lopez and husband, David II, Nathan Pennock, Kelly Harper and husband, Craig, Sissy Craver, and Cameron Gerin; great grandchildren, Malachy Hogue, David Lopez III, Gemma Lopez, Benjamin Lopez, Matthew Lopez, Craig Harper, Jr., Rory Harper, Gabriel Nolasco, Savannah Craver, Calin Craver, and Emma Craver; sister, Marie Fell of Galway, Ireland; brother, John Flanagan and wife, Marie, of Stranorlar, Ireland; sister, Anna Lafferty and husband, Phonsie, of Balleyboofey, Ireland; and many loving nieces and nephews across Ireland and the United States, along with many friends.
She is preceded by her parents, Joseph and Anna Flanagan; grandson, United States Army 2nd Lieutenant, Johnny Craver; only husband and father of her children, James M. Gallagher; brother, Joseph Flanagan; son in law, Kenneth Craver; and granddaughter, Whitney Nolasco.
A Catholic Mass for Bridget will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, January 20, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, 916 Maple Street, Bonham, Texas 75418. No other service or gathering is scheduled.
