IN LOVING MEMORY

Brian James Montgomery

Oct 30 1987 - Jan 07 2018

Brian James Montgomery (October 30, 1987 – January 7, 2018; born in Tucumcari, New Mexico; lived and passed in Merit, Texas). Brian came into and left this life as he lived: Fast. He liked fast cars, boats, ATVs, and airplanes. Getting from one point to the next always took him less time than anyone else. Just ask the highway patrol.

He loved his friends and family with even more exuberance than he showed every car, truck, tractor, or lawnmower that he felt needed more horsepower. He pursued life and love with passion and without fear. He was so proud of and loved all his nieces and nephews.

He never quite found the girl to be the love of his life, but for him is was all about the pursuit. His efforts paid off eternally when one of his young female relationships led him to the local church. After trip with young fellow believers from the church, he professed his faith in Christ and was baptized.

Brian arrived in heaven much too fast for the loved ones he left, but who should be surprised…that is how he got everywhere.

He is loved and will be forever remembered by so many. In addition to his numerous friends and extended family, he is survived by his grandma and grandpa, Robert and Darlene Montgomery (Merit, Texas); grandmother, Mazie Blair (Tucumcari, New Mexico); his mom and adopted father, Jacqueline and Shannan Poe (Merit, Texas); father and step-mother, Dereck and Marian Blair (Victorville, California); sister and brother-in-law, Brandis and Aaron Hendley (San Antonio, Texas); sister and brother-in-law, Devin and Josh Pillard (Rowlett, Texas); sisters, Tiffany Morris (Greenville, Texas), Amberly Maxim (Grafenwohr, Germany), Daphane Blair (Thornton, Colorado); brothers, Toler Blair (Whiteman AFB, Missouri) and Trevor Blair (Bullhead, Arizona); and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Henry Blair, and great-grandmother, Barbara Montgomery.

The family will receive friends during a visitation to be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home, 107 N. Washington, Farmersville, Texas 75442. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Merit Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in Merit Cemetery.
