Brian A. Hester

Brian Allen Hester of McKinney, Texas passed away February 25, 2022 at the age of 90.  He was born on January 1, 1932 to Allen Driver and Betty Lee (Harper) Hester in LaGrange, Georgia. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA degree in 1955 and married Margaret Julia Tanner on June 18, 1955 in Griffin, Georgia. Brian was an Area Supervisor for the Singer Corporation for many years and retired from the Federal Government as a Bankruptcy Specialist for the IRS in 1996. He was a member of Rotary International, member of the First United Methodist Church, Morganton, NC, Church Council and Finance Committee.  He was a member of The Methodist Church for 64 years and recently joined First United Methodist Church in McKinney.

Brian had many interests and hobbies. He was a wonderful football player in high school, and his love for the game continued throughout his life. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. He cheered them on from his comfy recliner. His girls would often join him to watch the games. He loved Opera! He would listen to Les Miserable, Madam Butterfly, and others for hours. In his retirement, he enjoyed playing golf with his "buddies" in Morganton. In the summer Brian and Margaret enjoyed travelling through the Southern states. That is how they stumbled upon the beautiful town of Morganton, North Carolina.

Brian is survived by his wife, Margaret Hester of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Andrea Hester of The Colony, Texas, Vanda Terrell and husband, Mike of Kalispell, Montana, and Lauren Kee and husband, James of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Terrell, Brittany Terrell, Jeremy Gillin, Sarah Zachow and Tiffany Myers; 7 great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lee Hester; his beloved great aunt and uncle, Dora and Rufe Farrar.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022 at First United Methodist Church, 315 North Church Street, McKinney, Texas 75069.  The service will be live streamed by the church at the following link:  https://www.sharingtheheart.org/media/livestream/

Inurnment will be held at First United Methodist Church Columbarium.
