Brent Josephson of Allen, Texas, formerly of San Diego, California, passed away on April 15, 2020 at the age of 81. He was born on July 30, 1938 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Lavern Clarence and Ada Mae (Davenport) Josephson. In his youth, Brent enjoyed rural life in Idaho and working in his dad’s and uncle’s stores. Upon completing his schooling, Brent moved to California to begin his career and family life. Blessed with three daughters, Cheryl, Vicki and Lynette, Brent was a loving family man, became an accomplished teller of “Dad-jokes” and grew in his faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a kind and gentle man who conducted himself with great honor and faith—he was known to be a man of his word.
On May 19, 1984, Brent married Lissa Steere Atkinson in the Laie Hawaii Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His professional career as Manager of Facilities Engineering was spent with General Dynamics, (later becoming BAE Systems) from which he retired after 41 years of service. Brent and Lissa resided in the community of Carmel Valley (Del Mar), California until July of 2019, moving then to Allen, Texas.
Brent is survived by his wife, Lissa Josephson; daughters, Cheryl Buckel (Danny), Vicki Sargent, and Lynette Adams (Terry), all of California; stepson, Mark Atkinson (Julie) of Allen, Texas; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Karl and Duane Josephson.
Due to the current health mandate, a private family memorial service will be held.
