Romans 8:38-39 New International Version (NIV)

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Proverbs 15:15

For the happy heart, life is a continual feast.

Brent was born and lived his life with a happy heart. He loved music and danced and clapped as early as 15 months. He graduated from Scottsbluff High School in Scottsbluff, NE and attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. After college, Brent worked for a season as a Compliance Officer at Goldman Sachs. He dedicated more than 25 years of his life to serving others through the National Breast Cancer Foundation in various capacities, including as the Senior Vice President of Development. Brent had a great sense of humor. He loved to laugh and make others laugh, and he always made friends wherever he travelled. He loved sports and was loyal to his local Dallas teams - Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, and Dallas Stars. He was also a lifelong fan of the Indiana Hoosiers, Cincinnati Reds, and Nebraska Cornhuskers. Brent was a master of pop culture and was known for his music playlists. His favorite musicians were Tom Petty, The Shins, The Eagles, Fiona Apple, and he loved music from the 1980’s. He knew every musical artist, movie, and TV show of the last 30 years. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of pop culture and celebrities and loved nothing more than to have a great conversation about it with a friend. He also loved to surprise his family and colleagues with gifts and acts of kindness. One summer day a few years ago, he rented an entire snow cone truck for everyone at work. This is how Brent lived his life, with laughter, joy, loyalty, and genuine love for others.

Psalm 145:18

The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.

Brent spent the last few years of his life calling upon Him in truth. His revived passion for God transformed his life and even strengthened the faith of his friends and family. He attended Gateway Church in Frisco and had a great passion for the worship and teaching. Last Spring, he went on a Holy Land Tour to Israel with his mother, Janelle, and was baptized in the Jordan River. He was at church as often as the doors were open and remarked that he couldn’t get enough of the presence of the Lord.

 John 11:25-26

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
