IN LOVING MEMORY

Brenda Joyce Murphy

Jul 28 1948 - Dec 01 2023

Brenda Joyce Murphy, a beloved resident of Rowlett, Texas, passed away on December 1, 2023. She was born to James Orville Carson and Donna Rae (Jensen) Carson on July 28, 1948, in Duchesne, Utah.

Brenda was a proud graduate of Severna Park High School in Severna Park, Maryland. She went on to further her education and earned an associate degree from Strayer University.  Brenda married the late, Thomas Patrick Murphy on April 14, 1984 in Suitland, Maryland and they created countless cherished memories together.

Professionally, Brenda was a dedicated employee of Lockheed Martin, where she served in the Human Resources Department for many years.  Outside of her professional life, Brenda had a deep love for animals. She would often advocate for the well-being of the furry companions who brought her so much joy. Her kind-heartedness extended to all creatures, big and small.

Brenda's greatest joy came from her role as a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren with all her heart and cherished every opportunity she had to spend time with them.  Watching them play sports and do other activities was a source of pride for Brenda, and she was their biggest cheerleader.  Brenda was of the Christian faith.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Her warm smile and kind soul touched the lives of everyone she met.

Brenda is survived by her son, Todd Cox and wife, Maria of Lothian, Maryland; daughters, Christina Cox and wife, Tami Franklin of Gambrills, Maryland and Nickole Darden and husband, Tim of Rowlett, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew Cox, Shelby Cox, Hailey Cox, Addison Cox-Franklin, Calista Cox-Franklin, Emilia Cox-Franklin, Nathan Darden, and Greyson Darden; and a host of other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Murphy, parents, James and Donna; and brothers, James Carson and Rick Carson.
