Bradley Don Tanner

Bradley Don Tanner, age 57, of Denton, Texas, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on August 7, 2020. 

Brad was born January 4, 1963, in Garden City, Kansas. After graduating from Allen High School in 1981, he went on to join the U.S. Air Force, where he served in Wichita Falls, Texas as an air traffic controller.

After his stint in the U.S. Air Force, Brad served as a corrections officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for a period of time before returning to college to pursue a degree in mathematics and robotics in Denton, Texas. 

As a young man, Brad enjoyed agriculture.  He was a member of the FFA and won numerous awards at livestock shows with his prize Jersey cow, “Miracle Rusty”.  He spent his summers on his grandparent’s dairy farm in Waco, Texas learning about farm life while working closely with his uncle.  Brad enjoyed being close to nature and pursued his interest in living sustainably during his adult years.

Brad is survived by his sister, Shana Clark of Alabama; stepsister, Jeri Calle of Texas; nieces, Kennedi Clark, Avery Clark, Michelle Birkhead; nephews, Tanner Clark and Chris Calle; and many other loving uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Darla "Jean" Tanner; father, John Tanner; brother, James "Timothy" Tanner; brother-in-law, Darrell Clark; as well as his grandparents, Julius "Martin" & Ruth Hoodenpyle and Horace & Maude Tanner.

Brad’s celebration of life will be held at Dallas Fort-Worth National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation to the American Cancer Society be made in his name.
