Bonnie Sue Foerster went to be with her Lord on February 21, 2024, at the age of 81, in Plano, Texas. She was born March 11, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Joseph C. McGowan and Virginia Watkins. She graduated from Bryan Adams High School, in Dallas, Texas, in 1961. Bonnie married the love of her life, Roland Foerster, January 27, 1967 at First United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas.
Bonnie loved to sing in the church choir at First United Methodist Church in Dallas and later at First United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas. She also performed in musicals at FUMC Dallas. Bonnie was a member of the Sweet Adelines Rich-Tone Chorus, an all-female barbershop chorus, from 1978 until 1986.
Bonnie loved snow skiing. Her favorite places were Crested Butte and Telluride, Colorado, Lake Tahoe, California, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Grand Targee, Idaho. She also loved sailing with Roland, often racing at Corinthian Sailing Club on White Rock Lake in Dallas, Texas when they weren't traveling to numerous regattas all over the country. Among Bonnie's favorites were the Flying Scot class Wife-Husband National and the "Glow in the Dark" regatta at Clinton Lake, Illinois.
Bonnie loved her pets, many of those being rescues. She enjoyed watching old movies, and loved her Dallas sports teams, the Cowboys, Mavericks, Rangers, and Stars. She also loved watching Texas Longhorns football.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Roland Foerster of Anna, Texas; son, Jeffrey Foerster and wife, Stacy Booher Foerster; granddaughters, Emma and Elissa of San Antonio, Texas; son, Randall Foerster of Plano, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Joseph McGowan.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
