Bob McPeak, a retired McKinney, Texas Police Chief, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2022 at Baylor Hospital. He was born on Oct. 18, 1933 to R.A. and Hattie McPeak. He was a lifetime resident of McKinney, Texas a town he proudly loved.
Bob had an exceptionally long career of service with the City of McKinney, including more than 25 years honorably serving the McKinney Police Department. He served in various positions, one being Chief of Police for over a decade. Bob then worked in numerous security positions at Texas Instruments and Raytheon, before retiring at the age of 87. He also served as Director of the Rotary Club, Director of the Boys Club, member of the Chamber of Commerce, Salvation Army and United Fund.
Bob had a love for horses, western shows, country music, going to estate and garage sales, collecting antiques, and most of all spending time with his family.
Bob will be remembered as a big hearted, caring, hardworking, devoted family man. He was always one to help others in need from family and friends to strangers. He always wanted to be sure everyone had what they needed. The passion he held for his family was untouchable. He gave selflessly to so many throughout his entire life.
They are truly no words to explain what a wonderful man he has been to all who had the honor of knowing Bob.
Bob is survived by his wife of 70 years, Irene McPeak; sisters, Bernice Fraze Minch and Ann McPeak; daughter-in-law, Jan McPeak; grandson, Shawn McPeak and wife, Tracy; granddaughters, Robin Foster and Cassye McPeak; and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bobby Glenn McPeak; two infant sons, Ricky and Danny; sister, Pauline Pingleton; and numerous lifelong friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The service will be livestreamed at https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/bobby-g-mcpeak. After the service, the recorded livestream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
