Bobby Gene Loving, 68, Of Celeste, Texas passed into the loving arms of our Savior on February 18, 2022. He was born February 21, 1953, in Dallas, Texas.
Bobby retired from the City of Dallas after working for over 30 years. He was married to Charlene Pate Loving for 24 years, and he was a member of First United Methodist Church in Leonard, Texas.
Bobby loved his family and never met a stranger. He could talk to anyone and loved visiting with family and friends. He was always willing to help with any task for anyone.
He was an avid bowler when he was younger. He loved patriotic, law enforcement and fire department T-shirts of any kind and was especially thankful when given one. He loved helping his brother Joe at the annual rodeo in Lufkin, Texas. It was the highlight of his year. He was loved by all who knew him and was well known for his kindness and gentleness.
Bobby enjoyed going on family vacations to Walt Disney World and an Alaskan cruise. He wanted to ride every ride at Disney and meet each character on the cruise trip. He was especially happy when he got to dance with Minnie Mouse.
He was a big Dallas Cowboys fan. He was always excited to go to the games with his brother and talk about Dez Bryant or the coaching staff. He had plenty of Cowboys shirts and hats, too!
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alton Loving and Dorothy Loving; brother, Jim McIntire; and sister, Alta Gentry.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Loving; brother, Joe Loving and wife, Darlene; sister, Cindy Arrington and husband, Lance; brother-in-law, Edward Gentry; stepsons, Chris Chester and Michael Chester and wife, Kim; mother-in-law, Dorothy Pate; brother-in-law, Jackie Pate and wife, Beverly; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 1 p.m., at Leonard Cemetery, 406 S. State HWY 78, Leonard, Texas 75452.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 206 N. Main Street, Leonard, Texas 75452.
