Bobby (Bob) Dwayne Coleman passed away on July 6, 2021 in his home surrounded by those who loved him dearly.
Bob was born on July 8, 1937 in Mountain Park, Oklahoma to Lonnie and Margaret Coleman. He grew up in Frederick, Oklahoma. He left Frederick to attend college in Texas and became the first person in his family to graduate from college, eventually earning a Masters degree from West Texas State. After college, he began a long career with the Texas Public School System where he coached many sports, but football was always his favorite. He was a head football coach for a number of Texas high schools. While he eventually gave up the long hours and stress of coaching football in Texas, he continued to teach for over 35 years. His last teaching position was at Richardson High School.
He continued his relationship with sports through his children and could always be found in the stands if one of his kids were playing. He continued to enjoy watching his grandkids play sports and was always willing to give advice, gentle criticism and encouragement. He was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren. Bob was also a lifelong golfer and was able to shoot his age fairly regularly until his health failed a few years ago.
Bob met his second wife, Jennifer, on the golf course and married her in 1991. They enjoyed many years of traveling, golfing and fishing together.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Margaret Coleman. He is survived by his brother Donnie Coleman of Frederick, Oklahoma, his son, Brent Coleman and Brent’s wife Sally of Little Elm, Texas, and his daughter Brooke Brownlow and Brooke’s husband Darrell of San Antonio. He has 4 grandchildren: Will Coleman, Brooke Coleman, Jordan Brownlow, and Dustin Brownlow.
Bob is lovingly referred to by his by his children as their rock. He was so strong and would move mountains to take care of them.
We love you, Dad.
