IN LOVING MEMORY

Bobby Ray Renfro

Sep 22 1934 - Mar 15 2017

Bobby (Bob) Ray Renfro, 82, passed away March 15, 2017, at Medical City - McKinney, surrounded by his family. He was born in Anna, Texas, on September 22, 1934, to William Loyd Renfro and Pearl Lena (Barnes) Renfro. Bob grew up and attended school in Anna, graduating in 1953. He then enlisted in the United States Army, and served two years as a Medic based in Norfolk, Virginia. After serving his country, he then attended North Texas State College (University of North Texas) from 1955 to 1959, majoring in business management. He married the love of his life, Sidney Reé Wilson, in Dallas, Texas, on April 15, 1961, where they began their life together that lasted for over fifty-five years. Bob began his career with National Lead (NL) in Dallas in 1961. In 1967, Bob and Sid moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he continued with National Lead until 1974. He and his family were transferred to Los Angeles, California, where he continued his career with National Lead, which later became Associated Lead. In 1980, Bob formed a partnership with lifelong colleague and friend, Tony Rumfola, at TCR Industries. Bob retired from TCR in 2003, and was asked to come work for their largest client, Troy Industries, where he worked until his death. He was truly a dedicated businessman, who instilled hard work and dedication with his sons and family. Bob and Sid spent many years serving their communities and church, and were very involved with their son’s and grandchildren’s sporting activities. Their love for the beach and travel lured them many times to enjoy vacations all across the world. Their bond and love for each other and family was their very core and belief. He was a member of the Newland Street Church of Christ in Garden Grove, California, where he served as a deacon and elder and taught Bible classes. When Bob “retired” from TCR  Industries, they moved back home to McKinney to care for his mother in her final years, and spend more time with their grandkids. They attended High Pointe Church of Christ, where he also served as a deacon and elder. Bob was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather that loved his family and friends, and truly showed that love while taking care of our mother, Sid, these last several years. He committed to take care of her and showed what true love is to his family and friends. He loved serving our Lord and His church for many years and showed what compassion, giving and sacrifice meant. His love of Missions was evident as he supported many efforts throughout the years.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Sidney Reé Renfro of McKinney; their two sons, Russ Renfro of Dallas and Kurt Renfro and wife Laureen of Huntington Beach, California; daughter-in-law, Teresa Renfro of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Renfro, Trevor Renfro and Jessica Mickleborough; many extended family members; and many beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Loyd Renfro and Pearl Lena Renfro.

Our family would like to thank his many friends and church family that have shown their love and support for Mom and Dad over these past years.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2017 at High Pointe Church of Christ, 3201 N. Central Expressway North, McKinney, Texas 75071.
