Bobby Gene Culley

Bobby Gene Culley, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1939, in Bonham, Texas to Ruby Ethel and William Culley. Bob lived a life filled with love and unwavering dedication to his faith, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of almost 64 years, Carole Janet Jones Culley, whom he married on November 6, 1959. Their partnership was a testament to enduring love and shared devotion.

Bob proudly served his country as a Crew Chief in the U.S. Air Force, followed by a distinguished 32-year career at Texas Instruments. He was honored to have the opportunity to utilize his inventive mind to lead or participate in various engineering advancements. Some of his projects included the development of LED technology, the analog watch, Little Professor, Dataman, Speak and Spell and various military programs.

Bob and Carole were deeply involved in their church community in East Texas.  Together they shared their love of music with churches, nursing homes and friends.  Their music was their service unto the Lord.

As a member of the Masonic lodge, Bob earned a 32nd degree in the Scottish Rite of the Freemasonry.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his three daughters, Pamela Van Druten, Janice Oliver (Brad) and Patricia Bramblett (Todd).  Known as Poppie, he is survived by seven grandchildren, Amanda Frick (Troy); Ashley Goldade; Catherine Way; Shane Hazelton (Victoria); Whitney Anderson (Anthony); Ethan Hazelton (Megan); and Travis Bramblett (April). Thirteen great-grandchildren, Landon Goldade (Olivia); Logan Goldade; Luke Goldade; Owen Anderson; Lexi Hazelton; Adilynn Bowers; Liam Goldade; Ezra Anderson; Colby Way; Sterling Hazelton; Hayley Frick; Abel Anderson and Audrey Frick. Also, soon to arrive great-great-grandson in April.

Bob is survived by his sister, Sherry Morgan and preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

A graveside service will be held March 21, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas 75211.

The family will receive guests for a visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Turrentine- Jackson-Morrow, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Bob and Carole’s name to New Hope Baptist Church, 3855 FM 1801, Mineola, Texas 75773.
