Bobby Carl Valentine, 85 years old, born on July 15, 1938, in Steubenville, Ohio has passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 15, 2023, in Plano, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Carl and Daisy Valentine, and his brother, Billy Joe Valentine.
Bobby’s early years were marked by a diverse upbringing as he spent time growing up in Ohio, West Virginia, and South Carolina. His experiences in these various places enriched his life, fostering a deep appreciation for family bonds and strong values.
Bobby was a man of accomplishment and cherished memories. He dedicated 30 years of his life to First Energy in Stratton Ohio and the previous two decades of service at Titanium Metals in Toronto, Ohio where he left a lasting mark with his dedication and expertise.
Beyond his professional life, Bobby was a devoted family man, celebrating over 63 years of marriage to Rhonda Lee Valentine (Allen) of Pennsboro West Virginia. Their enduring love story was a testament to their commitment to one another and their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them. His legacy extends through his three sons: Steve Valentine of Steubenville, Ohio; Matt Valentine (Beth Kidder) of Shalersville, Ohio; and Mark Valentine (Janet Lynn Skinner) of Fairview, Texas. Each of them carries forward his wisdom, love, integrity and dedication to family.
Bobby’s memories live on through his grandchildren: Carrie Lynn Baker (Valentine), Jennifer Tew (Valentine), Justin Valentine, Layne Valentine, Brandon Valentine, Olivia Valentine, Sophia Elias (Valentine), Joey Valentine, as well as great grandchildren: Grayson, Gilly, and Carlos III. Their lives are a testament to his love and guidance.
Bobby found immense joy in coaching his children in baseball and football, instilling in them not only athletic skills but also life lessons and values that continue to shape their lives. In addition to his family, Bobby had a passion for watching football, particularly West Virginia University football. His enthusiasm for the game was contagious and brought joy to those around him. He was also an avid reader with a deep love for western and history books. His thirst for knowledge and appreciation enriched his life and those who shared his interests.
Bobby’s kindness, wisdom, and sense of humor endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His extended family at The Heart Hospital in Plano Texas where he touched so many lives, cared for him over the years. His presence was a source of warmth and inspiration to all who crossed his path. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A strong conservative, Bobby’s political beliefs were an integral part of his identity, guiding his views and principles throughout his life.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service surrounded by the love and memories of his family.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday morning one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to honor Bobby’s memories to either the American Heart Association or the American Association for Kidney Patients, two causes that were close to his heart.
