Bobby Burton McMenamy

Bobby went home to the Lord on June 21, 2018, at the age of 91.  He was born on November 23, 1926 to Marvin Lyman (Mac) McMenamy and Ona Belle Ballard McMenamy in Electra, Texas.  He grew up in Van Alstyne, Texas. At age 17 he joined the United States Navy.  Bobby served as a Coxswain on the U.S.S. Hamlin and the U.S.S. St. George in the Pacific Theater of World War II.  On April 16, 1950, he married Marjorie Joyce Miles in Sherman, Texas.  Bobby spent his career as a plumber and started working with the Job Corp in 1966.  Later he became the first plumbing instructor at the McKinney Job Corp and remained there until his retirement in 1991.  Bobby loved to garden and work in the yard.  He loved to witness to others about the Lord. 

He is survived by his children, Patricia McMenamy,  Allan McMenamy,  Linda McMenamy, Brenda Menikos and husband, Tom, and Denise Brown and husband, Paul; grandchildren, Matthew, Kevin, Vivienne, Caleb, and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Karina, Kinsey, Matthew, Kyah, Asher, Malachi, and Klara; siblings, Gwendolyn Marr, Charles McMenamy (Doris), Larry McMenamy (Betty) and Katherine Rogers-Ferrell; and many other loving nieces and nephews.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; parents, Mac and Ona Belle; siblings, Juanita Wortham, Byron McMenamy, Vaunda McMenamy, LaJuana Robertson, Lindy McMenamy, Theresa Conger and Vivian McMenamy.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.   The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Indian Creek Cemetery, Fannin County, with military honors.
