Funeral Services for Mr. Bobby Joe Brown, 74 year old Tom Bean resident, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Tuesday October 21, 2014 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Whitewright. Rev. Shawn Paschal and Rev. Larry Craig will officiate. Burial will be in the Cedar Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 until 9 P.M. Monday October 20, 2014.
Mr. Brown was born April 29, 1940 at Tom Bean. His parents were Starling Woodrow and Mamie Lee Hopper Brown. He was a graduate of Tom Bean High School and he worked in the construction business building power plants. He married the love of his life, Judy Marie Dodson, on April 16, 1977 at Tom Bean. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tom Bean and the Mad Dog Car Club. He also served his country as a member of the United States Army. He passed away Friday October 17, 2014 at Texoma Healthcare in Sherman.
He is survived by his wife: Judy Brown of Tom Bean; his daughters and sons-in-law: Joanna & Alvey Curry of Sherman and Betty & Gary Gibson of Anna; his brother and sister-in-law: Jerry & Edith Brown of Gastonia, North Carolina; his brother: Starling Woodrow Brown, Jr. of Sherman; his sister and brother-in-law: Linda & Louis Cameron of Sherman; his grandchildren: Toby Perkins, Bobby Murphy, Megan Potts, Steven Curry and Justin Curry; his great-grandchildren: Colt Murphy, Madeline Murphy, Ashton Perkins, Brock Curry, and Breeanna Potts; his two dogs: Bandit and Cricket.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Butch Murphy, and a daughter-in-law, Cherrill Murphy.
