Bob Long, age 78, passed away February 10, 2008, in Richardson, Texas. Bob was born August 31, 1929 in Hartford, Connecticut, to Lewis Rice and Margaret Elizabeth (Bonnett) Long. He grew up on the east coast. Bob proudly served in the United States Navy. He graduated from Brown University. Bob married Marilyn Slight on December 27, 1956 in Cold Spring, Minnesota. He was a salesman in the men’s clothing and automotive fields. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Dallas, Texas; son, Andy and wife, Sharon, of Garland, Texas; daughters, Mary Fodor and husband, Brian, of Naperville, Illinois, Patty Williams and her husband Rusty, of Shady Shores, Texas and Susan Long of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Mark and Jason Long, Taylor and Zach Fodor, and Blake, Casey, and Cayla Williams; three nieces; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lewis Long and sister, Margaret Long. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, February 15, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service.
