Blake Dean Shuttlesworth

Blake Dean Shuttlesworth of McKinney, Texas passed away on December 30, 2016 at the age of 60.  He was born on August 2, 1956 to Joe A. and Zell Dean (Harris) Shuttlesworth in Lubbock, Texas.  Blake married Pamela Delene Swann on March 29, 1980 in Lubbock.  He was a member of the Texas Tech alumni where he graduated with the class of 1979.  Blake was a member of the Texas Girls Coaching Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.  He coached softball at Grand Prairie High School, Bonham High School and Mesquite High School. Blake had such a huge impact in the softball community.  He was a strong influence on so many players both young and old.  Softball was his passion; Blake was obsessed with the game.  He was always improving his knowledge of the sport. Blake was an avid Texas Ranger and John Wayne fan.  He loved to golf and go fly fishing.  “Pa” loved his daughters and his grandkids, but most of all, his wife, Pam.  He had a passion for the love of wood.  

Blake is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Pam Shuttlesworth of McKinney; daughters, Krystal Shuttlesworth of Denton, Tara Sneed and husband, Casey of McKinney; grandchildren, Autumn, McKenna, Logan and Kinley; father, Joe A. Shuttlesworth of Lubbock; brother, Lynn Shuttlesworth of Lubbock; sister, Dee Shuttlesworth of Frisco; and numerous other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Zell Dean Shuttlesworth.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
