Dr. Billy R. Boring Sr. of McKinney, Texas passed away on April 13, 2018 at the age of 88. He was born on July 29, 1929 to Clyde Boring and Willie (Shelton) Boring in Seminole, Oklahoma. Dr. Boring graduated from McKinney High School in 1947. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in the 1st Armored Division as a Battalion surgeon from July 1, 1955 to July 1, 1957, and later as a Captain for the United States Reserves from 1957 to 1966.
Dr. Boring attended the University of North Texas receiving his Bachelor’s degree in 1950, and transferred to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas receiving his M.D. degree on June 4, 1954. After graduation, he started his rotating internship at the University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin, Texas from June 1, 1954 to July 1, 1955. He was associated with the Wysong Clinic Hospitals from July 5, 1957 to May 15, 1986, and then moved to Heritage Medical building in McKinney, Texas on May 15, 1986.
Dr. Boring is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Ann Womack of McKinney, Texas; sons, Dr. Billy Boring Jr. and wife, Michelle of McKinney, Texas, Dr. Ron Boring and wife, Kathy of Plano, Texas, and James Mark Boring and wife, Kim of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Bradley David Ratliff, Dr. Cameron Ratliff, Amy Boring, Katy Boring, Jacob Boring, Saddie Luan Boring; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Luan Boring; his son, Brian Keith Boring; his sister, Lavanna Nelson, and his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 315 North Church Street, McKinney, Texas 75069. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during visitation on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
