Billy Wayne Evans of Allen, Texas passed away on November 15, 2020 at the age of 85. He was born on January 14, 1935 to Mansel Tillman Evans and Gladys Dora Sifford in Kaufman County, Texas. In 1980, he married Carol in Plano, Texas.
He served in the US Navy from 1952-1956 and earned the National Defense Service Medal. He later worked at Texas Instruments as a Mechanical Engineer. He graduated from University of Texas in Arlington and attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Texas.
He was Chairman of Deacons at the Baptist Church in Mesquite, TX and later a member of First Baptist Church Plano. He enjoyed singing in the sanctuary choir and Sunshine Singers, playing softball, basketball and volleyball and was an avid runner for many years. He loved attending the games and activities of his children and grandchildren. He also taught the children’s choir and Sunday School alongside his wife, Carol.
He is survived by wife Carol; son, Phillip; son, Brian and wife, Tanya; daughter, Melody and husband, Aaron; daughter Alanna and husband, Aaron; daughter Kelly and husband, Lonnie; grandchildren, Hannah, Rachel, Noelle, Benjamin, Kaydee, Shannon, Michelle, and Ryan; 3 great grandchildren and various nephews and nieces,
He was preceded in death by his brother, Mansel Jr. (Sonny) and sisters, Peggy and Cleo.
