Billy Ray West, 64, passed away March 26, 2026, in Plano, Texas. He was born on October 4, 1961, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to his loving parents, Bobby Ray West and Gwendolyn (Turner) West.
Billy grew up in Plano, Texas, where he attended elementary and high school.
Billy met the love of his life, Traci Dockins, and on December 10, 1982, they celebrated their love and commitment to each other in marriage in Rockwall, Texas.
Billy loved to work on cars, and especially dirt track cars when he was younger. He could do awesome paint jobs on these. He had a gift for building things. He loved to fish with his kids. He also liked to hunt.
As a teenager, he worked pouring concrete. Billy worked as a welder for the City of Garland where he retired in 2008. Then he began a career in multi –family construction., first as an assistant, then as a superintendent for several companies. He was a hard worker and wanted the jobs done right.
Billy loved his family. He worked hard to support them.
Billy is survived by his wife, Traci West of Anna, Texas; children, Monica Wilson (Jared) also of Anna, Misti Moore and Justin of Blue Ridge, Texas, Zach West (Celeste) of Aubrey, Texas, Jacob West (Stephanie) of Garland, Texas, and Cassi Mansfield (Matt) of Blue Ridge, Texas; grandchildren, Trenten, Jaxtyn, Autumn, Caston, Colton, Willow, Waylon, Gracin and Taitum Aland; and a host of extended loving family members and friends, who will miss him dearly and forever cherish his memory.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Gwen West, sister, Rebecca Gunter, nephew, Michael Goddard, and grandchild, Gracie Rae Moore.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Following the funeral, interment will take place at Green Valley Cemetery, 6500 FM 2153, Aubrey, Texas 76227.
The family will receive guests during a visitation from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the funeral home.
