IN LOVING MEMORY

Billy Norman Everett

Sep 02 1931 - Oct 16 2018

Billy Everett was called home to our Lord on Tuesday, October 16th.Born September 2, 1931 to William Bryant Everett and Norma Faye “midge” Luttrull.   Bill, to all who new him, loved his family, doing things for others, gospel and blue grass music and his church family.  As the oldest of six children raised in and around the Kaufman/Athens area he was dedicated from a very young age to working hard at anything he could find in order to help provide  for his family.

Bill graduated from Mesquite High School in 1950.  He met his wife of 65 years, Doreen Gish in 1952 when they worked for the same company.  They married on April 10, 1953 at the Lawson Baptist Church and they had two sons, Bruce and Brian.  Bill became a Christian during a revival at Lawson Baptist Church in 1950.  He served many years as deacon, Sunday School Superindentant, Sunday School teacher and treasurer.  That was the year he fell in love with southern gospel music and started going to all night gospel singings in Ft. Worth and Dallas.  After he and Doreen married they continued to enjoy this music as well as gospel bluegrass.  His love for gospel hymns has also continued with his singing at White Rock Baptist Church in Anna, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jimmie and Jerry, sisters Bobbie and Verda Sue, Patsy and son Bruce Everett.  He is survived by his wife Doreen, son Brian and his wife, Jamie, grandchildren Dana Nabors and Melissa Everett, Rebecca Everett and great-grandsons, Jake Nabors and Jett Miller.
