Billy Joe Morris, a beloved husband, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, in McKinney, Texas, at the age of 77. Born on November 26, 1947, in Waco, Texas, to devoted parents Muriel LaFonte Morris and Minnie Mae (Nutt) Morris, Billy lived a full and meaningful life enriched by love, family, and purpose.

Billy graduated from Waco High School in 1965 and pursued his passion for numbers and business at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas, earning a degree in Accounting in 1969. His career was marked by dedication and adaptability, serving as CFO of Dallas Label & Box for eight years before joining Memco Jewelry Co. He later transitioned into real estate, where his expertise in commercial land and property management left a lasting impact on the communities he served.

On May 7, 1979, Billy married the love of his life, Carmela Diana Tostado, in Reno, Nevada. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with joy, adventure, and cherished family moments. Billy's hobbies reflected his love for the outdoors and companionship, as he enjoyed traveling, spending time in nature with his dogs, and gathering with family.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Morris of Fairview Texas, several nieces and nephews around Texas and other states.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his six siblings Anna, Ruby, Zelma, Janice, Barbara, and Wendell.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Billy’s obituary page by clicking on the following link:   https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/billy-joe-morris.  After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.  Following the service, a procession will make its way to Fitzhugh Cemetery - Forest Grove Cemetery, 2540 Country Club Rd, Lucas, Texas 75002 for a committal service.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
